Canine DNA test results

Dr. Weil's Vitamin Advisor

Savvy is a purebred American Pit Bull Terrier / American Staffordshire Terrier (dual UKC / AKC registered). After a DNA test, he’s told he’s not what his AKC or UKC papers say he is…. For those that may not know, the American Staffordshire Terrier and American Pit Bull Terrier are both closely related to bulldogs. Visit www.chako.org

  1. Weird, everything I ever read on AmStaffs indicates that the AKC breed standard was based on a UKC APBT… so I would have to say that fact and that the two “breeds” can still be dual registered would be an indication that they are very related. LOL! I think the only outstanding difference is that you can’t register a rednose Amstaff.
Of course these tests are a scam, but $100 to prove your dog mostly border collie and isn’t banned is worth it. So shhhhhh! LOL!!!

  2. I also have read repeatedly that AmStaffs are PitBulls but the American Kennel Club just didn’t want to denote their illegal heritage so they called the American Staffordshires to reflect their shared lineage with the Staffordshire Bull Terrier of England? This is how the two can be dual registered.

  3. I LOVE THIS!
    SO FUNNY
