Find Some Bunny to Love in February – SaveABunny Supports “Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month” with Sales of Nice and Naughty Humpington Ridge Chocolates
Mill Valley, Calif. (PRWEB) February 5, 2008
SaveABunny (http://www.saveabunny.org) today announced the support of “Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month” this February, through rabbit adoption events in the Bay Area and sales of Humpington Ridge chocolates, a range of all-natural, cruelty-free and completely vegan Belgian chocolates. According to the ASPCA (http://www.aspca.org), rabbits are the third most frequently euthanized animals in the United States, and moving into the pre-Easter period, there is an increased need to educate consumers about living with a house rabbit as well as highlight the opportunity to rescue one of the thousands of rabbits in shelters around the country.
SaveABunny is supporting “Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month” in two ways:
Through sales of Humpington Ridge chocolates, a perfect gift for Valentine’s Day that will also support the continued rescue and assistance of domestic rabbits in Northern California, with 100% of profit from sales going directly to SaveABunny.
Events throughout the Bay Area where adoptable rabbits will be showcased and volunteers will be on hand to educate and offer advice on whether a rabbit will be a suitable addition to households.
The following events are scheduled: Saturday, February 9th at PetFood Express, 1975 Market Street, corner of Duboce, San Francisco; Saturday February 16th at the San Francisco Adoption and Education Outpost at the S.P.C.A, 250 Florida Street, San Francisco; Saturday February 23rd at the Walnut Creek Adoption and Education Outpost at Animal Rescue Foundation, 2890 Mitchell Drive, Walnut Creek; Sunday February 24th at PetFood Express, 1975 Market Street, corner of Duboce, San Francisco.
The founder of SaveABunny, Marcy Schaaf, created the concept of Humpington Ridge – a mythical land where bunnies find pleasure and romance – to drive education and raise funds for the shelter she runs with the help of volunteers.
“Rabbits symbolize sensuality and passion in popular culture, so giving your Valentine a gift of Humpington Ridge chocolates is a nice, but a little bit naughty, way of not only enjoying the delicacy of fine chocolates but also supporting rabbit rescue efforts,” explained Marcy Schaaf, Founder of SaveABunny. “Furthermore, SaveABunny is increasing our education efforts during the month of February to support the ASPCA ‘Adopt a Rescued Rabbit Month’. With the support of our volunteers we hope to raise awareness about the joy of having a rabbit as an indoor companion.”
Humpington Ridge Chocolates are available immediately at the SaveABunny website – (http://www.saveabunny.org) – and are priced from $ 8.95 Stores who are interested in stocking the Humpington Ridge Chocolates should contact SaveABunny at 415 388 2790. Purchasing the chocolates will help support the continued rescue and assistance of domestic rabbits in Northern California, with 100% of profit from sales going directly to SaveABunny.
