    This picture just made my mouth water. Western slope peaches beat the tar out of Georgia peaches any day.

  3. I moved to this area at age 4 in 1948, not too many years after these pictures were taken. I lived among the apple, peach cherry and pear orchards (and worked in them–that was hard) until I got out of HS in 1962. I never saw this many new fruit boxes in a row in all that time. There was a sawmill in Delta, between 7 & 15 miles away, but to my knowlege they made no boxes there. Most of the oldtimers there have died and so has much of the history. I’m intrigued by the strangest things.

  4. On many orchards the boxes were new as they were made at the locations to hold all that fruit!

  5. I never knew so many peaches were grown in colorado

  6. The boxes the peaches are going in are brand new. I never saw a new one when I was a kid. Interesting.
