  1. Hmm, info/caption is wrong about smaller bird lifespan.

  2. Actually it ia correct, depending on the species. The hyacinth Macaw can live to 100 years old, so the range is extreme, and depends on the species. We have over 60 birds in our home, and the potential for many of them to live longer than my wife and I is pretty significant. We have a will that specifies what is to be done with any birds that might still be with us after we are gone.

  3. Since it doesn’t specify a species, it’s incorrect. All parrots have life expectancies longer than 5 years, and it’s bad to set such a low expectation.

  4. ummm if you are a first time bird owner then neither but if you have had many birds before then then umm probably a amazon.

well i have a macaw to and its noisy and im getting a parakeet so im ready.

  9. My parakeet made it 20 years until he died from a tragic fan accident 🙁 Probably would have made it 25 really… I gave the thing to my brother when I went to college out of state and he left his bedroom fan on and we NEVER clipped the little guy’s wings. Much more fun having a bird that can fly to you when you whistle for them 😀
