Just wanted to warn you of the peanut butter linked to salmonella. Dog treats recall!!!!!?
Question by I’m kind of a big deal.: Just wanted to warn you of the peanut butter linked to salmonella. Dog treats recall!!!!!?
Be safe and don’t give your dog peanut butter or peanut butter type treats! Petsmart is recalling treats with peanut butter in them! Here’s the info….
“”The salmonella outbreak in peanut butter has now impacted dogs. PetSmart is pulling all of their own brand of peanut butter flavored Great Choice dog biscuits from the shelves, and customers who have purchased them may take them back to the store for a refund or exchange.
This is the first recall of pet products containing peanut butter, and it’s a voluntary one, but it might not be the last. To ensure your dog’s health and safety, check the labels of all of his foods and treats. If peanut butter is present, seal the contents in a plastic bag and avoid using them until their safety is known, or throw them away in a tightly closed container so wildlife can’t eat the food. Wash your hands with hot soapy water after handling dog food or treats with peanut butter listed as an ingredient, just in case contamination has occurred.””
Not a question I know, but just wanted to warn in case someone didn’t know!!
What to look for if you suspect your dog has eaten tainted dog treats or food:
Diarrhea, which may contain blood or mucous
If you suspect your dog is ill, a trip to the vet right away is in order. In addition:
Wash all of your dog’s bedding with a little bit of bleach.
Clean up all feces from the yard, dispose of it in sealed plastic bags or containers, and spray a mild bleach solution where the feces had been.
When your dog is well enough, bathe him with his regular shampoo to remove any possible traces of salmonella.
Wash your hands in warm, soapy water for at least 20 seconds to rid yourself of potential contamination.
DOES YOUR DOG DROOL? there’s my question.
Answer by Christine-Adopt a pet!
Thanks for the info but better add a legit question (like what breed of dog do you have), because people can report it and will (happened to me before). Thanks!
