Better than the real thing for a toddler & pre-schooler. Although they would love to have a real puppy, until they are old enough to enjoy some of the responsibility, this is a great pet for our girls. I’m a bit disappointed because I think ours has a hearing impairment and is “constipated”. One click makes him/her walk. Two clicks is to “beg”. Three clicks is to sit. I thought maybe my little one was clicking too slowly, but even when clicking faster (tried a few speeds), three times, our little doggie only seems to hear ONE click and starts walking. Many times, even if it’s quiet in the house, it will seemingly “hear” clicks that never happened and do things. Every now & then, if you really keep clicking, it will hear things differently and maybe beg or sit. You must make doggie sit to eat the biscuit. I’ve tried what the instructions say to make the biscuit come out the other end, but it seems to stay in there for much longer and come out as a “surprise” later on. (I guess that seems more like a “real” dog anyway…) For $40 it’s a bit of a disappointment, but it’s not sitting ignored upon a shelf. Our little ones aren’t stuck on it behaving the way the instructions say it should.

My daughter wanted this dog from Santa so now I am stuck with it. It doesn’t sit or beg when clicked two or three times. I have to push it down to make it sit. The dogs hind legs also get stuck. They start to move back and forth and never stop, even when I turn it off and back on. This dog was a waste of money. Too bad Santa doesn’t take returns.

I have a 3 and 7 year old, boy and girl! My kids loved this toy since they first saw it! This was the top toy this year for Christmas in my house. I would recommend this toy to anyone that enjoys a good laugh with your children.
