I hate “how to” books but now that i have a puppy, i’ve been through a couple different books to make sure i’m giving my pup the right direction and enjoying her to the fullest. this book was a light read and so informative. I’ve already put a couple of the techniques to work and have seen a small improvement. Can;t wait to see where we are in a week or two!! I definitely recommend this book to anyone with a pet!…or a wife or husband

This is an easy-to-follow book on training an animal. Though there is a dog on the cover, don’t let that fool you. I used the techniques I learned in the book to train my cat! It’s not as easy as it may seem to write a “how-to” book, but the author did a great job here. She didn’t add unnecessary info and she didn’t leave out any important info. This bookdoesn’t just explain a few tricks you can teach; it gives you the skills to be able toreally teach ANY trick if you are dedicated to doing so. There is even a humorous sideto the book when the author makes quips about situations you mey encounter…
I thought it was impossible to teach my old dog Scotty any tricks since I had never been successful before and had given up. But after following the steps in this book with just one of the tricks, we had so much fun with him and he seemed to enjoy it too. The step by step instructions are clear enough that even a novice like me could get it:)) He is already rolling over on command. I’ve found some other training books to be a bit difficult for me to understand, this one isn’t and we’re looking forward to teaching him how to properly “speak”. Glad to have found this, it was certainly worth the buy.
